After all, when Christophe Decarnin was a no-show at his Fall 2011 show due to, um, health reasons, we had the feeling that the ax was about to fall. And fall it did. Here's the thing: change is a necessity in fashion. Fashion relies upon the next-new-thing. While it's important to have an identity and to develop a concept properly, you need to breathe new life into design on a regular basis to spark innovation and foster creativity, even and especially into storied brands.
