The only thing that could make a summer trip to Malibu even more perfect is having a summer fling! Obviously, there’s no shortage of attractive people in Malibu. Insanely gorgeous and beautiful is more like it. There are a lot of Hollywood movie types – i.e. people who have a professional obligation to look amazing, but more than that, there are so many people who take advantage of the healthy lifestyle. Surfing, swimming, running and yoga on the beach, and no shortage of places to get healthy, tasty fare. Love is in the air, pretty much 365 days a year.

When you find your wholesome hottie, this Helmut Lang jacket is a perfect “date night” piece. Even though Helmut Lang is known for dark, abstract, moody pieces, this jacket is so “easy breezy, life of the party.” I can see this paired with either a simple, flowing pair of black pants, or an easy black sheath dress. With nude or metallic strappy sandals.

And if you’re looking for a date spot, one of my favorites is the Inn of the Seventh Ray (technically Topanga Canyon, but not too far). They serve natural, organic food in a gorgeous, tree-lined woodland setting. The brunch there is world-famous, but of course, you can’t beat the romance of a starlit evening at the Inn.
