How was your New Year's Eve, mmm? We hope you had a smashing good time in the new '12!

Well, it's official. It's the beginning of a brand new year. And you know what New Year's Eve brings?

Hue really done it now. After all that color blocking and all those zany prints from the past few seasons, designers are finally lightening up a bit. This season, primary colors are well, secondary.

You may think Bottega Veneta is synonymous with hand-woven leather goods. But the truth is that BV has got leather down, woven, flat, or otherwise.

No, it's not a mirage. But, it's as close to heaven as we can imagine.

Can we just say that we miss the days of Cher rocking Bob Mackie at the Oscars? Courtney Love wearing a haute couture ripped up garbage bag on the carpet at the Globes? Does it seem to anyone that, while very pretty, red carpet arrivals have been playing it a little safe, these days? That's why our favorite three looks stood out in the crowd. And we applaud them for it.

We're head over heels for Madame Figaro, our latest great Greek magazine find. Especially considering that they've profiled Christos front and center.

The first baby picture my mother has of me (out of the hospital), she is holding me in front of the Gucci store in NYC's midtown. She is the epitome of 70s chic: bell-bottoms, wedge heels, trench coat, large sunglasses (Rachel Zoe would be proud) and I, well I am a baby. I'm wrapped in swaddling. But I'm also pointing at an array of Gucci monogram bags and giggling. We should have known then.

It's the weekend, baby! We know you've got lots of parties and plans. The big question is: what in the heck are you going to wear?
